Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Job Description: Jomar Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer. This position is responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating the installation, enhancement or operational support of simple and advanced complex information network systems and desktop workstations. This position will also provide assistance with Windows and firewall system administration and system security support to include security policy changes and troubleshooting.

Required knowledge, skill, and abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of LAN, WAN, and data communication operations, analysis, and design. Thorough knowledge of data communication protocols, accesses methods and architectures
  
• Excellent analytical skills and experience with to resolving multi-dimensional system problems spanning network, hardware and software layers.
• Thorough knowledge of advanced protocol/trace analysis, statistical analysis and performance analysis.
• Experience with sniffers and a SNMP-based network monitoring tool is required.
• Considerable knowledge and experience in setting up network components, specifically Juniper firewalls and Cisco access routers.
• Considerable knowledge of network data communications and computer system diagnostic aids and tools and the ability to isolate and resolve hardware and software problems.
• Knowledge of communication standards and limitations.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP addressing and routing, SSL, FTP, SFTP and other OSI protocols is required.
• Understanding and working knowledge of cryptographic standards is a plus.
• Knowledge of network security management, access and authentication, data integrity, business recovery, operation environment requirements and physical security.
• Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
• Experience with documentation of operational procedures and system implementation guidelines are required.
• The successful candidate will be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of customer and internal organizations.
  

Education and Experience Required:

• Five or more years experience in the support of networks and network-connected devices.
